Cairo Conference, 1943
- In November 1943, President Franklin D. Roosevelt met British prime minister Winston Churchill and Premier Chiang Kai-shek of China in Cairo, Egypt, to agree on their postwar Asia policy. Their statement declared that in the event of an Allied victory, all islands seized by Japan would be freed, and all Chinese territories occupied by the Japanese would return to the Republic of China.
